The Pro-Ject 1-Xpression Carbon Classic is the sixth generation of the classic Pro-Ject 1 model, which appeared on the market in 1991. The novelty received a tonearm made of carbon, made using EVO technology.
The support disk of the Pro-Ject 1-Xpression Carbon Classic player has a precise design, similar to that used in high-end models of the Xtension series. A special TPE thermoplastic plastic serving as an interlayer for aluminum alloy plates provides good damping and resonance suppression, which is necessary for accurate reading of sound tracks. The disc is supplemented with felt mat. The ball of the bearing is manufactured with high accuracy from chrome-plated steel, the body is made of bronze, and there is an additional Teflon insert inside the glass. The player is equipped with a synchronous AC motor, mounted in such a way as to suppress the parasitic vibrations generated by it. Pro-Ject 1-Xpression Carbon Classic has a passive drive and provides two speeds of rotation of the disk (33, 1/3 and 45 rpm) with manual switching. Optionally, you can work with disks at 78 rpm.
The chassis of the player is made of fiberboard and can have one of four options for exterior decoration - black or white piano varnish, or a natural tree of two varieties. The table is mounted on solid damping supports. To power the turntable an external power supply unit is used, providing a constant voltage of 15 volts.
This LP-player is supplied without a pickup head or can be equipped with a high-quality MM cartridge Ortofon 2M-Silver. Pro-Ject 1-Xpression Carbon Classic has a very high quality-price ratio and can be recommended for use in serious music lovers' systems. If desired, the standard pickup head can be replaced with another, which will give a sound that fully meets the taste preferences of the user.
