The company is older ELAC FS 409 floorstanding loudspeaker that will complement its new 400-th series.

In the design of the ELAC FS 409 traditional elegance combined with modern stylistic features. This is a 3.5-way speaker system with bass reflex port displayed on the bottom of her Cabinet. With this design reduces the noise created by the emerging air flow, as well as improving the characteristics of the bass. The model was 150 mm midrange driver with a diffuser AS-XR, which uses Aluminum-Sandwich AS Technology. The dynamics of such membrane consists of a paper base and glued on a thin aluminium dome with textured surface, reminiscent of the treated crystal. Voice coil when it is connected not only to this Foundation, but to the dome. Eventually, we manage to get rid of resonance oscillations of the diffuser, and to increase its rigidity. The dynamic range is increased by one octave. Low-frequency region controls a pair of 180mm woofers with the same diffusers AS-XR. To reduce mechanical vibration and improve the rigidity of the midrange and the woofers are equipped with cast aluminum baskets.

FS 409 is applied in a ribbon tweeter latest generation JET 5, which is an analogue of the famous radiator of Oscar Hale. The tweeter features a powerful neodymium magnet. Thanks to JET 5 the upper bound of acoustics frequency response rises to 50 kHz. This column is able to accurately reproduce all the nuances of audio high-resolution formats.

A protective grill is attached to the front panel by magnets, which is better than the standard mount. On the back wall are two screw terminals for cable.
