Description stereo amplifier, Marantz PM-14S1
The reference model of the Marantz PM-14S1 from the premium series has received a new preamplifier part and some other fresh design solutions.
Here we use the chassis with double layer bottom plate and cast aluminum legs, which surely resists vibration. Inside the housing is a pair of aluminum radiators. In the Central part of the front panel set elegant round LCD display, which is a 6.3 mm headphone Jack, power key and power regulators of timbres. The Central section has a lateral illumination by which to read the inscription over the buttons near her buttons, the backlight, speakers and tonestack (left) and ATT buttons (the volume switch), activate direct access to the cascade power amplifier (P. Direct) and toggle the Phono stage in MC mode (right). The input selector is on the left of the facade, and a linear volume control (on the basis of the chip MAS6116) – to the right.
In the design of the Marantz PM-14S1 used discrete modules of the latest generation HDAM SA3 reverse current connection that have a high slew rate of the signal and remove noise. In the end, can achieve uncompromising sound quality. The power supply includes a massive toroidal transformer, and rectifier used in high-current Schottky diodes. The model produces the power of 90 watts (8 Ohms) and 140 watts (4 Ohms) per channel. Each channel output stage has its own PCB and uses high-current transistors. This capability allows the amplifier to cope with even capricious in terms of acoustic impedance.
The kit includes a remote control with aluminium front panel. When running PM-14S1 in conjunction with the streamer Marantz NA-11S1 can be managed through the application installed on iOS devices and Android.
Inputs: connectors MM/MC-Phono stage, 3 RCA line, two RCA for monitoring and recording the input directly to the section of power amplifier. Outputs: two RCA jacks for recording output Pre Out. To connect the MSS use four brand copper terminals SPKT-100. On the rear panel there is a switch that maps PM-14S1 in bi-amphigony mode. There are two connectors to connect the system bus and for connection to an external IR receiver. There are also special bus connectors F. C. B. S., which you can create a managed multi-channel system that includes up to four of these amplifiers.
Marantz PM-14S1 provides clean, emotional and musical sound with impressive dynamics, an appropriate reference level.
