Description stereo amplifier, Hegel H160
The Hegel H160 model occupies a niche between a flagship and a more budget H300 "integralnym" H80 in the original full line of amplifiers.
The design uses a legendary Sound Engine technology which corrects a received signal amplifier in real time. In this case instead of the traditional feedback in circuits applies a direct connection. All this helps to minimize various kind of distortion, make the sound more clean and smooth, improve the damping factor and increase the dynamics of the bass.
Hegel H160 is perhaps one of the most versatile handsets to date. The model has a built-in DAC, USB port, high-quality headphone amplifier on the chip JRC4556AD and can be used in the role of tips in DC. Supports AirPlay, but the wifi module in the "integralnye" is not provided, therefore, for its implementation H160 must be connected to a LAN via a LAN interface (supported protocols DLNA and UPnP). For functioning AirPlay to the same network must be connected iOS device. Thanks to the integrated DLNA streaming module is available to playback files from the NAS servers and computers at resolutions up to 24 bit/192 kHz.
BP is installed in a toroidal transformer 6 and a high-capacity capacitors. H160 power reaches 150 W (8 Ohms) per channel, and the damping ratio exceeds 1000. This means that the amplifier will infect even the most capricious of the acoustic system. In the output stage H160 installed fast transistors in Japan.
The device is made in strict "hegelism" design. Slightly convex on the front aluminum panel is a display showing the selected input, power rating and other symbols. The right mounted volume control and a 6.3 mm headphone Jack and on the left the input selector. The power button placed on the bottom of the housing. There is a remote control that can also control playback software media players when connected to a computer via USB.
Inputs: line RCA, balanced XLR, RCA for direct access to the terminal cascade (for DC), three optical, coaxial, USB port (on the Tenor TE7022L chip) and LAN. Outputs: linear fixed and adjustable (both on RCA jacks). To connect to AC there are two pairs of screw terminals.
The Hegel H160 amplifier has a clean open sound with excellent resolution and a tight dynamic bass. The model also allows to significantly improve the sound sources such as smartphones, tablets, etc.
