Description stereo amplifier, Cambridge Audio Topaz AM5

Integrated amplifier Cambridge Audio Topaz AM5 developed on the basis of a very successful Junior model AM1, but has increased power output and extended set of inputs.

The amplifier is kept simple circuitry with short chains of transmission beeps and a complete set of adjustments. On the front side of the machine is made of brushed aluminum, are tone controls in the low and high frequencies, stereoblonde, the input selector and the large volume knob. Unlike M1 amplifier, Cambridge Audio Topaz AM5 augmented input front 3.5 mm mini-jack, which is convenient to connect any portable players, and smartphones.

On the rear panel of the device has four inputs for connecting line-level sources, one of which, MP3/Aux, is an alternative front entrance (when you install the socket on the front panel this input is disabled). Also Cambridge Audio Topaz AM5 has an output to connect a recording device. Two connecting speakers there are two pairs of large screw terminals.

The amplifier is constructed within the original ideology Sound First ("First sound"), so it has no secondary features, but included all the little things that can affect sound quality. Unlike most models of similar value, the Topaz AM5 housing made entirely of metal, which, taking into account the additional damping, anti-resonance and improves its shielding characteristics. The number of inputs is optimal for most users, while their capacity can lead to increased levels of background noise. Block the tone control provides precise and smooth variation of the frequency response of the amplifier without the mid-frequency region, and allow us to correct the tonal balance of any speaker systems. At the same time when setting the knobs to zero no influence on the sound of the Topaz AM5 they provide will not be, allowed to refuse from a separate switch.
